Our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

At Dahlonega Assisted Living and Memory Care, our priority is the health and safety of our residents and staff. We take the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. As a result, we have implemented many new policies since March 12, 2020.

No visitors are permitted in the community until further notice. We will make limited exceptions in an extreme emergency, upon approval from the Owner or Executive Director. Anyone entering the building under this circumstance would be screened upon arrival and denied access if they do not pass the screening.

Certain home care providers will be granted access to the community once they have completed the screening procedures. These visits will be approved by the Executive Director.

We are utilizing tele health with Dr. Ghosn and his team.

We are proud to have some of the best team members in the assisted living. We are taking our team members temperatures when they arrive to work. Employees who have a fever or cold-like symptoms are required to stay home until they are symptom free.

Residents are required to remain on community grounds, except for medical care. Upon returning to the community, they will be screened for re-entry. They will be asked to wash their hands, their temperature will be taken, and their wheelchair or walker will be sanitized.

Packages may be delivered outside and will be accepted by a team member. We have a volunteer who is making a weekly Walmart run for our residents.

Dining services has a few temporary changes. We are dining on disposable products. Residents may request their meals in their room free of charge. We have set up temporary dining rooms, so our residents can safely dine together.

We are committed to maintaining as much of a normal life in the community as possible. However, we have made some temporary changes to our activities program. All group gatherings are hosted by our team. We are hosting activities for 10 or less people and have initiated more one on one activities. We are using face time and Skye so our residents can communicate with and see their loved ones. Email blasts are being utilized to communicate with families and friends.

We are committed to a clean living environment. We have purchased a special machine that kills many viruses and bacteria. We are cleaning all hard services, including handrails, at least daily.
